How to choose a pool filter with the right capacity?

A sand filter is necessary for every pool because, without proper cleaning, bacteria will grow and ruin the water quality. For the best result, all pool water must circulate through the filter within 4-5 hours.

Calculation example:

• Pool dimensions: width 4m, length 8m, depth 1.50m.
• Pool volume: 4m x 8m x 1.50m = 48 m³
• Calculation of required pump capacity: 48 m³ ÷ 4 hours = 12 m³/h

In this example, the pool pump must be able to pump at least 12 m³ of water per hour through the filter system.
